Maree farms is a working organic farm producing extra virgin hoopoe olive oil. The production of olive oil dates back centuries originating in Asia minor. Historically the applications and uses of olive oil vary from medicines, lamps, soaps, skin care and cooking to name but a few. To date, olive oil is still the oil of choice when it comes to cooking due to its health benefits.

Scientific research continually boasts of olive oils unique antioxidant properties. These are largely due to the polyphenol content. The polyphenols work to prevent cell damage thereby reducing the risk of heart disease, stroke, type II diabetes and cancer. Extra virgin olive oil in particular is regarded as one of the most stable cooking oils. It is able to withstand degradation better in comparison to other oils making it ideal to use for frying, baking and sautéing.

At Maree Farms we approach the production of our hoopoe olive oil with great attention to detail. The entire process should be valued as an art. From the moment the olive tree is planted to the harvest of its first fruit, it is both a privilege and responsibility to maintain these ancient Spanish olive groves, some of which date back over 500 years.

With years of experience, we dedicate time each day to the care of our olive trees, working with the elements to maximise the nutrient potential of our olives. Through knowledgable pruning and a manually controlled irrigation system, we can refine the quality of the olives that are selected for our extra virgin olive oil. We take pride in being able to oversee the entire production process. This is the only way to guaratnee that the product you receive is the genuine article. We are an organic farm and do not use any pesticides, herbicides or insecticides. We believe this is the only way to ensure that the product you receive is an authentic taste of spain.
